Fibotree

Terms of service

Effective

These terms are an agreement between you and Hieu Tran Duc, who makes and runs Fibotree (“we”), for the Fibotree app for iOS and Android, the fibotree command-line tool and fibotree.com (together, “Fibotree”). By using Fibotree you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why.

Your account

  • You need an account to use the app. Sign in with Apple, Google or an email address, and keep your sign-in safe; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your country sets a higher age for agreeing to these terms alone.
  • Give us a real email address if you sign up with one: invites to shared workspaces match a verified email.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings. It is locked at once and erased 30 days later, as the privacy policy describes.

Your content

  • Your goals, tasks, routines, reflections, comments and messages are yours. We don’t claim ownership of them.
  • You give us permission to store, copy, show and send your content only as needed to run Fibotree for you and the people you share it with: for example, to sync it to your devices, show it to members of a shared workspace and send notifications.
  • In a shared workspace, the other members can see and change what is shared there, as the workspace’s roles allow. If you leave or delete your account, what you added to a shared workspace stays there for the team, shown as “Deleted member”.
  • You are responsible for what you put in Fibotree and for having the right to share it.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Fibotree to:

  • break the law, or help someone else break it;
  • harass, threaten or harm other people, or share content that does;
  • share someone else’s private information without their permission;
  • send spam, or invite people who haven’t asked to join;
  • try to get into accounts or workspaces that aren’t yours, probe or overload our systems, or get around limits we set, such as the size of a team;
  • copy, resell or rebuild Fibotree as a competing service.

We may remove content that breaks these terms, and suspend or close an account that does, after telling you why where we can.

The command-line tool

The fibotree tool acts as you, with a token you approve in the app. Keep the token private, revoke it with fibotree logout when you are done with a computer, and don’t use it to get around these terms.

Price

Fibotree is free to use. If paid features come, we will say what they cost before you pay, and the App Store or Google Play terms apply to those purchases.

Changes to Fibotree

Fibotree is still growing, so features will change. We may add, change or remove features, or stop offering Fibotree. If we plan to stop, we will tell you at least 30 days ahead, and send you a copy of your plans if you ask.

Our responsibility

  • We work to keep Fibotree running and your data safe, but we provide it “as is” and can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors.
  • To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or business, arising from your use of Fibotree, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 50 US dollars.
  • Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited by agreement.

Apple and Google

If you got the app from the App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply to the download. On iPhone, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies alongside these terms; where the two differ about the app, Apple’s agreement wins. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for Fibotree or its support.

Ending this agreement

You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may end it if you break these terms seriously or repeatedly, or if the law requires it. The parts of these terms that by their nature should last, such as “Our responsibility”, still apply afterwards.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update this page and its effective date and tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using Fibotree after that, the new terms apply.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where we are established, and disputes go to its courts, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to bring them where you live.
